Changes

If there is any lesson we might learn from diapers, I think it is that changes are inevitable. Those of us who wear diapers are well aware that you must change them sooner or later. It is somewhat under your control, but somewhat not. It is really only a question of when—and your bodily functions usually solve that equation for you. If you refuse to change when you know you should, the results are unpleasant.

Sometimes you change when you don’t need to, though. Sometimes your diaper is only halfway full, but you change anyway for one reason or another. On the other hand, sometimes you hold off on changing for as long as possible. Until the last second before you leak. Sometimes you wish you could go longer without a change, but you just can’t. You’ve started to get uncomfortable even despite your enjoyment. Sometimes you regret changing, but there’s not much you can do about it at that point. You just have to move on. Maybe you can make a better choice this time.

Sometimes, though, changes are wonderful. They are long anticipated. They are welcome. They are satisfying. They are new beginnings. They are fresh starts. They make you more comfortable. They make you happier.

Since the last time I posted on this blog, there have been some changes in my life. Diaper changes, yes, but not just diaper changes. Really big life changes as well.

The first major change that happened was that I told my mom I’m a diaper lover. I never used the term “diaper lover,” actually, but I gave her a very thorough explanation of the diaper side of who I am. Why did I tell her? How did I tell her? I’ll save that stuff for later. For now, I will just say that she reacted well. Oddly enough, I didn’t. The change was a good one, but I had trouble regulating my emotions for weeks afterward. That’s a big part of the reason why I stopped posting here for a while.

The other major change that happened since my last time posting here was that I got a new job. I now work in the field I’ve been wanting to work in for a long time. This change hasn’t come without it’s challenges, but overall it’s been a dream come true. My quality of life has gone up, and it has been good for my mental health. Also, I got a new car!

Just as changes are inevitable in life, they are inevitable in blogging. I want to come back to this blog, but I’m not happy with everything I posted the first time I came back. I’m not going to have the same approach this time around, and I’m not going to leave all of my old posts intact either. I mean, I’m going to leave most of my 2018 posts intact, but the posts I did earlier this year might end up edited or gone. I’m the type to preserve the past, but diapers are here to remind me that changes are a part of life, and often necessary.

This is a new beginning. A fresh start. I hope you will join me for more. Until next time, thank you for reading. Thank you for being here.

  1. Just stumbled across your blog for the first time. It’s good stuff! I wasn’t gonna comment, but I saw your response to the other comment, and wanted to let you know you are appreciated.
