Nighttime Diapering

While some diapers work better for certain daytime activities than others, the major distinction I see in diaper appropriateness is between diapers best for daytime use and diapers best for nighttime use (i.e. during sleep).

For most of my time in adult diapers, I haven’t liked wearing diapers to bed. I know lots of diaper lovers wear diapers almost exclusively to bed, but I could never be one of those, especially when I was first starting out.

Lately, in my enthusiasm for wearing diapers as much as possible, I’ve worn more at night. I’ve pretty much gotten used to it. Also, it helps me fall asleep because I don’t have to keep getting up to go to the bathroom before I fall asleep (which I often do out of nervousness when not diapered).

In wearing more at night, I’ve learned the kinds of diapers that work best for it.

We’ve All Worn Diapers!

Sometimes, I think about what I might say if someone made fun of me for wearing diapers. Yesterday, I had a great idea. I could say, “Why are you making fun of me for wearing diapers? You’ve worn diapers too.”

Yes, of course, that’s not a perfect comeback. I’m wearing diapers now, by choice, but they wore diapers as a kid, out of necessity. They could point that out. However, I still think the response would get the other person thinking. Maybe reconsidering their perspective.

On the more positive side of things, this thought made me realize that diapers are something that unite almost everyone on earth. Almost everyone alive today has worn a diaper in their life. Not many other things unite us all. Diapers hold a really special place in the human experience.

What do you think? Will you add my comeback idea to your arsenal for if anyone makes fun of you for wearing diapers? Do you agree that diapers hold a super special place in the human experience? Please leave me a comment to let me know and/or like this post to show your support for my blog!

Introducing Sorting

Yesterday, I started doing a new series of posts in addition to my usual Blog posts. The posts in the new series are Journal posts. Long before I wrote my first Journal post, I knew that not all of my readers would want to read the new series or even have it mixed in with my Blog posts. For that reason, and since a third type of post (Fiction) is on the horizon, I added post sorting to my site. To sort my posts, simply go to the sidebar on my site, look under Post Categories, and select the type of post you want to see. The other posts will disappear. Happy sorting!

A Diaper Bag Discussion

For about the first six months after I first tried adult diapers, I almost exclusively used them at home. As a result, I never needed anything to carry spare diapers in when out of the house.

Then I became more bold and started wearing diapers to class. Part of what allowed me to do this was my realization that I could discreetly carry diapers in my backpack.

When I moved onto a college campus last year, that shifted my diaper carrying tactics a bit. Here’s what I did: I kept my backpack stocked with 2-4 diapers and I kept a drawstring bag (provided by the school during a welcome event) in my dresser stocked with the same amount. I also kept a small bag of wipes in each bag.

Do Diapers Require Accessories?

I know that many people who are interested in diapers but have never worn them, as well as many people giving advice to those people, believe diapers require accessories such as powders, creams, wipes, inserts, and plastic pants.

I’d like to shatter this myth. While there are some diaper accessories I would recommend, none are necessary.

For anyone reading this who has never tried a diaper but wants to, I’d advise you to just buy diapers at first. That’s what I did. I’d imagined diapers as being great, but I wanted to buy some to make sure. And if I’d bought accessories and not liked the diapers, the accessories would’ve meant more money lost on top of the money I’d spent on the diapers.

That advice aside, here is a list of some accessories and my thoughts on them:

Are Diapers Like an Underwear-Shorts Combo?

I’d love to wear diapers as an alternative to shorts. Many of you probably would, too. But would that be a reasonable allowance to expect any friends, family, or society at large to make? In order to find out, let’s take a step back from our position as diaper enthusiasts and analyze diapers to figure out if wearing one is more like wearing an underwear-shorts combo or more like merely wearing regular underwear.

Diaper Unboxing (Kinda)

I’ve seen people post photos like this in places like Tumblr and Reddit, and I thought it would be fun to do my own for this package of diapers because the Prevail Air is my new favorite.

Prevail

I got these this time last week, and snapped this photo right after I opened the box. It’s nothing fancy, but I like it. There’s just something about a new package of diapers. Sorry I took so long to post it, but I was busy.

Do you enjoy opening packages you know contain diapers? Is it better the more diapers inside? Would you enjoy if I posted more content like this in the future? Please leave me a comment to let me know!

Dogs’ Reaction to Disposed Diapers

This post is a quick follow-up to a previous post about how dogs react to diapers. In that post, I explain how I’ve only had a dog react to a diaper once (it was really the pee that had leaked from it, though).

However, disposed diapers are different from in-use diapers. One of the reasons I was worried about how dogs would react to my diapers at first was because they like to pee when they smell pee. Certainly, a disposed diaper is more like a pee puddle than an in-use diaper, so worry about them is justified.
