Dogs’ Reaction to Diapers

So, something I wondered all the time before I got my first diapers was how dogs would react to diapers. They have a great sense of smell, and they like to pee when they smell pee. My family and I had three dogs at the time, so naturally I was worried. I couldn’t have my diaper love causing my animal loves to act up.

When I first got diapers, I stayed away from my dogs if I was wearing and wet. At that time, I also avoided my mom’s excellent sense of smell, so I spent most of my diapered time in my room, with the dogs and my mom safely on the other side of my door.

I’m naturally curious, though, so I got curious about the dogs. Maybe I could trust them more than I thought. It couldn’t hurt too much to try wearing a wet diaper around them to test out my fearful predictions, right? Plus, I was getting tired of isolating myself whenever I had a diaper on. I didn’t only isolate myself, actually. I also took my diaper off anytime I left my room, even though I almost always wore pants/shorts over it.

The Scent a Diaper Gives the Skin

When I’m out of my diaper to change it or air out my skin, a nice scent always wafts up to my nose. It’s the scent the diaper has given my skin.

If you’ve worn adult diapers, you probably know what I’m talking about. Some kind of perfume or lotion or something in the diaper marinates the skin while the diaper is on, then lingers for a while after it’s off (probably until you wash the diaper area). You can even often smell it when the diaper is on, though it’s more muted.

Diaper Ranking

In this post, I will rank my top 5 diapers and explain the ranking of each by referencing others. In future posts, I will review the diapers individually and detail their benefits and drawbacks.

#1: MoliCare Slip Super Plus

#2: Prevail Air Stretchable Briefs

#3: Tranquility ATN

#4: Abena Abri-Flex Premium M3

#5: Abena Abri-Form M4

The MoliCare Slip comes in at #1 for me, barely beating the Prevail, which it does for two main reasons. First, the MoliCare has leak guards, whereas the Prevail does not. Second, I am on my first pack of the Prevails, whereas I have been buying the MoliCares and using them as my primary diaper for around eight months; in other words, I have to consider that I may be on a temporary high with the Prevails.
