Nighttime Diapering

While some diapers work better for certain daytime activities than others, the major distinction I see in diaper appropriateness is between diapers best for daytime use and diapers best for nighttime use (i.e. during sleep).

For most of my time in adult diapers, I haven’t liked wearing diapers to bed. I know lots of diaper lovers wear diapers almost exclusively to bed, but I could never be one of those, especially when I was first starting out.

Lately, in my enthusiasm for wearing diapers as much as possible, I’ve worn more at night. I’ve pretty much gotten used to it. Also, it helps me fall asleep because I don’t have to keep getting up to go to the bathroom before I fall asleep (which I often do out of nervousness when not diapered).

In wearing more at night, I’ve learned the kinds of diapers that work best for it.

We’ve All Worn Diapers!

Sometimes, I think about what I might say if someone made fun of me for wearing diapers. Yesterday, I had a great idea. I could say, “Why are you making fun of me for wearing diapers? You’ve worn diapers too.”

Yes, of course, that’s not a perfect comeback. I’m wearing diapers now, by choice, but they wore diapers as a kid, out of necessity. They could point that out. However, I still think the response would get the other person thinking. Maybe reconsidering their perspective.

On the more positive side of things, this thought made me realize that diapers are something that unite almost everyone on earth. Almost everyone alive today has worn a diaper in their life. Not many other things unite us all. Diapers hold a really special place in the human experience.

What do you think? Will you add my comeback idea to your arsenal for if anyone makes fun of you for wearing diapers? Do you agree that diapers hold a super special place in the human experience? Please leave me a comment to let me know and/or like this post to show your support for my blog!

Fiction: Alicia, Part 1

This is the first in a new Fiction series of posts. Fiction posts will be fiction stories (by me) centered around adult diapers, often presented in several parts. They won’t have sexual content such as masturbation or sex, but some readers may find them sexually interesting and there’s no shame in that. This first story is about a girl named Alicia whose dad designs a “super diaper” and wants her to test it out over a month.

Hi, my name’s Alicia. My dad has been incontinent his whole life, and he has worked for the major diaper manufacturer B&Q for almost ten years now. Recently, he moved into research and development, or R&D.

For most of my life I didn’t see his incontinence, diaper use, or job as very significant. It was always in the far, far background of my life. My parents potty-trained me like a regular kid and my dad was very discreet with his diapers and when talking about his job.

That all pretty much changed once he started R&D. As soon as he was in the door, he got the ball rolling on designing a super diaper of sorts. His central idea was to have super thick padding all over the diaper, instead of just centered around one’s private parts. That would, he predicted, totally eliminate leaks resulting from awkward positions and decrease the need for diaper changes significantly.

One of the most radical ideas he had was that it would be a diaper anyone could handle. Anyone, even a totally continent person who hadn’t ever seen a diaper up close, could pick up one of his super diapers and never have an issue with it, even on the first try.

I think that’s one of the reasons he wanted me to be the test subject for his diaper once he got the first batch manufactured. I was a regular person who hadn’t really paid any attention to diapers. Plus, he only had enough for one person, he could constantly check in with me, and we hadn’t done any father-daughter bonding stuff in a while.

Introducing Sorting

Yesterday, I started doing a new series of posts in addition to my usual Blog posts. The posts in the new series are Journal posts. Long before I wrote my first Journal post, I knew that not all of my readers would want to read the new series or even have it mixed in with my Blog posts. For that reason, and since a third type of post (Fiction) is on the horizon, I added post sorting to my site. To sort my posts, simply go to the sidebar on my site, look under Post Categories, and select the type of post you want to see. The other posts will disappear. Happy sorting!

Diaper Journal: 7/1/18

This is the second post in my new Diaper Journal series. Please let me know in the comments section if you do or don’t like this type of content so I know if I should keep this series going!

I’m gonna be honest. Today is quite a blur in my my mind as I look back on it. Nevertheless, I’ll try to be as accurate as I can in today’s Journal.

Last night, I didn’t pee much before bed, so I ended up sleeping in the diaper I put on after posting yesterday’s Journal.

This morning, I woke up having to pee, as is usual for me. Since I had my diaper on, I sat on the edge of my bed and let it flow. With most diapers, I would probably lift my butt up while peeing in fear of leaks, but I was wearing a Prevail Air, a diaper I’ve grown very confident in.

I then took my dogs out and ate cereal. As I was eating cereal, I felt the urge to poop, so I pushed it out in my diaper. After I finished eating, I changed my diaper. Somehow I ended up in just the new diaper and a pair of athletic shorts, which let the top of my diaper show. I ventured into my laundry room and folded clothes in this attire, confident that the rest of my family was still asleep. They were.

A Diaper Bag Discussion

For about the first six months after I first tried adult diapers, I almost exclusively used them at home. As a result, I never needed anything to carry spare diapers in when out of the house.

Then I became more bold and started wearing diapers to class. Part of what allowed me to do this was my realization that I could discreetly carry diapers in my backpack.

When I moved onto a college campus last year, that shifted my diaper carrying tactics a bit. Here’s what I did: I kept my backpack stocked with 2-4 diapers and I kept a drawstring bag (provided by the school during a welcome event) in my dresser stocked with the same amount. I also kept a small bag of wipes in each bag.

Diaper Journal: 6/30/18

This is the first in a new series of posts. Diaper Journal posts will be accounts of my daily life with a focus on diapers. If you enjoy this post and want me to continue doing journals, please let me know in the comments so I know I should continue. If you don’t enjoy this type of content, please let me know so I can consider discontinuing this series.

Today, I woke up without a diaper on. I had to take my diaper off before bed last night, since it was too wet to spend the night in, and I was so tired that I never got around to putting a new one on.

As soon as I got up, I took my dogs outside to go to the bathroom. That’s always the first thing I do when I wake up at home. I stood out in my yard and watched them, since one of the dogs requires outdoor supervision.

Normally, I have to pee when I wake up. If I’m wearing a diaper, I gratefully use the diaper. Today, since I didn’t have a diaper on and I really had to pee, I peed in a large bush in my yard.

Do Diapers Require Accessories?

I know that many people who are interested in diapers but have never worn them, as well as many people giving advice to those people, believe diapers require accessories such as powders, creams, wipes, inserts, and plastic pants.

I’d like to shatter this myth. While there are some diaper accessories I would recommend, none are necessary.

For anyone reading this who has never tried a diaper but wants to, I’d advise you to just buy diapers at first. That’s what I did. I’d imagined diapers as being great, but I wanted to buy some to make sure. And if I’d bought accessories and not liked the diapers, the accessories would’ve meant more money lost on top of the money I’d spent on the diapers.

That advice aside, here is a list of some accessories and my thoughts on them:
